It was 1987 when among the vineyards of Torre Rosazza the idea of producing a wine different from the tradition of the time.
So Altromerlot came to light, probably one of the first Friulian wines to be aged for a long time in French barriques.

Almost 35 harvests after Altromerlot continues to be an undisputed classic of Torre Rosazza, a wine appreciated and awarded, at the top of the elegance among Friulian wines.
The last 2021 awards for Altromerlot 2016 were the inclusion in the Guide Veronelli with a rating of 3/3 stars and a score of 93 and the gold medal at the Wine Hunter Award, with a score of 93-95.9/100.
